Travel Logistics and Mobility

Big idea

Moving a team on foot across a region takes planning, pace and margin. Logistics is a spiritual discipline when people are involved.

Session objectives

  • Audit the real cost of how your team moves and meets
  • Build margin into the calendar deliberately
  • Reduce friction that drains volunteer energy

Opening question

What are we asking people to do that is harder than it needs to be?

Discussion questions

  1. 1.Where does our schedule assume unlimited energy?
  2. 2.What logistics repeatedly break, and who absorbs the failure?
  3. 3.How much travel or setup time do we count as ministry time?
  4. 4.What could we simplify without losing anything essential?

Group exercise

Friction list
  1. 1Walk through one typical event from setup to cleanup
  2. 2Write each step and the minutes it takes
  3. 3Circle every step that frustrated someone last time
  4. 4Remove or reassign the top three

Commitment before next session
