How Jesus Handled Crowds

Big idea

Jesus drew crowds but never let scale remove access to the individual. Growth without access becomes performance.

Session objectives

  • Evaluate whether growth has cost you personal access
  • Design rhythms that protect one-to-one contact
  • Decide what only the leader can do at scale

Opening question

Who did we used to know personally that we now only know by name?

Discussion questions

  1. 1.Has our growth outpaced our care?
  2. 2.Where do individuals still get heard here?
  3. 3.What do we do publicly that should be done personally?
  4. 4.Who is quietly falling through the gap?

Group exercise

Access check
  1. 1Count last month's one-to-one conversations per leader
  2. 2Compare to the number of people you are responsible for
  3. 3Identify the ratio at which care breaks down
  4. 4Add one structure that restores access at your size

Commitment before next session

Book three individual conversations before the next gathering.

Communication

Facilitator note: open with the question, keep discussion to half the session, and end with every participant naming their commitment aloud.
