Entrusting the Mission to Others
Personal reflection · Mark 6:7–13
You came here because: I am trying to develop someone else as a leader
Write as much or as little as you wish. Every field is optional, and you may stop at any point.
Observe
He calls them, sends them, and entrusts them with authority. He sends them two by two rather than alone. Mark does not explain every reason for this, but the mission is clearly not organized around isolated individuals.
He limits what they take — no bread, no bag, no money (Mark 6:8–9) — and prepares them for rejection as well as welcome (Mark 6:10–11). The disciples go out, preach, cast out demons and heal the sick (Mark 6:12–13).
Afterward, the apostles return and report what they had done and taught (Mark 6:30). Their time in the field does not end their formation; it becomes part of it.

Examine
Pray
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you recognize where control, fear, impatience, or lack of trust may be limiting another person’s development.
- Ask the Holy Spirit for clarity about what you may be overlooking.
- Bring the people affected by this decision into prayer.
Discernment pause
A brief pause to slow the decision down.
- What do I know to be true?
- What am I assuming?
- Who is affected?
- What may be influencing me?
- What would alignment require?
- What deserves prayer before action?
